Generally speaking, one ton of gold ore has to be mined to obtain 5-10 grams of gold, but 150 grams of gold can be obtained from one ton of waste circuit boards; from IC materials, which have high gold content, 1.7 to 9.5 kg of gold can be obtained from one ton of IC material, depending on the method used.

India’s economy is growing rapidly and the number of middle class and young consumers is increasing fast, leading to increasing demand for consumer electronics. India is also a major importer of electronic waste, so has strong demand for technology is the area of electronics waste recycling. The Green Technical Service Team has taken advantage of this opportunity and, together with Taiwan’s Mow Technology Co., Ltd and Uwin Nanotech. Co., Ltd. has transferred electronic waste precious metal recycling equipment technology to India’s ECOLI and ENTECH in Gujarat State, and, through training, is assisting India’s green industry upgrade.
