The delegation also invited the Pollution Control Department, Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP) and the Federation of Thai Industries to Taiwan for a visit. The executive team arranged for the Thai delegation to visit electronic waste treatment facilities, providing an opportunity for Thai representatives to compare and contemplate future electronic waste treatment solutions for Thai businesses. The Thai delegation also had a chance to view waste sorting process and machines in action at a waste sorting site with a special focus on electronic waste disassembly technology, expressing their approval for the recycling business model consisted of front-end environmental-friendly shops, middle-end recycling stations and back-end waste plastic treatment facilities. It is hoped that a technology export platform on which vendors are matched with international counterparts to facilitate exchange and training in resource recycling will be established in the future to strengthen the bilateral business communication and networking, thereby enhancing the future development in an industry filled with potential. In addition, during its visit to the EPA Recycling Fund Management Board, the Thai delegation stated its hope to use Taiwanese waste recycling regulatory framework and experience as precedents and reference to establish waste-related regulations in Thailand. Joint training programs and forums may be held in the future to maximize and spread the benefits to other ASEAN countries to improve the condition in waste recycling and other environmental management practice.
