Multicountry Observational Study Mission on Best Practices in Agritourism

Agritourism in Asia has great potential for attracting tourists. Agricultural tourist activities usually include the facilities for outdoor recreational and educational activities. The diversity of nature, culture, traditions and people in the rural areas is fascinating. Agritourism not only boosts the rural economy, but also develops a healthy social leisure culture. According to the annual statistical data of World Resources Institute, 10% growth of the natural tourism is noted, while 5% growth is noted in other categories of tourism. Taiwan's agritourism has attracted urban residents and overseas tourists with its quality products and excellent services.

Hence, the observational study enables the representatives of the member countries to learn valuable experience and the successful examples and best practices of agritourism, as well as help them spread and adopt the innovative ideas and successful modes.
