APO Green Technical Service is in Thailand to promote the Taiwan resource recycling experience and model.

Green Technical Service Team, headed by Hsu Ming-Hua, deputy executive secretary of the EPA Recycling Fund Management Board, visited Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, Pollution Control Department, and the Ministry of Industry of Thailand. Cheng Chiu-Ping, Environmental Technical Specialist of Recycling Fund Management Board, delivered a presentation on the waste recycling system in Taiwan with a special focus on the current regulation and practice. The presentation was well-received by the audience as people complimented on the highly efficient recycling model in Taiwan and expressed their interest in opportunities for further learning and site trips on the matter. The service team, in addition to sharing the electronic waste recycling and treatment system, current practice, technologies and industry development with their Thai counterparts, also took the opportunity of this trip to learn about the residential and commercial electronic waste management system and practice in Thailand, thereby laying the groundwork for a general understanding of the local waste disposal and treatment market. Such knowledge is crucial to planning future cooperation. The Green Technical Service Team will continue its engagement with Thai environment regulatory bodies and private sector with future site trips and interaction with the locals to make Taiwan recycling model and technology available to foreign markets.
